The EZ-Path® Series 44+ Fire-Rated Pathway is designed for high cable volume conditions through fire-rated walls and floors while eliminating the burden of ongoing maintenance. The Series 44+ incorporates self-sealing intumescent pads that automatically adjust to the installed cable fill without the need for user manipulation. Under fire exposure, the intumescent pads expand and swell resisting the passage of smoke and flame.
STI was looking for a complete metal fabrication partner to retrofit their EZDR 400 Firestop Collar for existing construction. Because of the nature of their work, an audit from Bureau Veritas was required for anyone supplying products to STI. After selecting Germantown Tool, the STI and Germantown Tool engineers worked together to optimize their product’s manufacturability. Germantown Tool then designed and built custom assembly equipment for STI.
For this construction industry fire safety product, traceability of all materials used in the product was required—including the date code. Germantown Tool’s ISO 9001:2015 certification and experience with traceability allowed them to meet this need. Germantown Tool also assumed complete part responsibility including powder coat, purchasing components from outside suppliers, assembly, packaging, and shipping to the customer warehouse.
